Women who don’t have insurance, or who have expensive co-pays, are encouraged to call the Onondaga County Cancer Services Program at 315-435-3653 to schedule their free mammogram during the Love Yourself promotion on February 10 – February 12.
If follow up is necessary, coverage for treatment is available.
This year alone, over 40,000 women will die of breast cancer – including 70 in Onondaga County alone. Mammography is currently the best screening test available for the early detection of breast cancer. American Cancer Society guidelines state that all women should have their yearly mammogram beginning no later than age 40.
The Love Yourself Breast Cancer Screening Promotion brings together: American Cancer Society,
The Central New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®,
The Cancer Services Program, Wellspring Breast Center at Community General Hospital,
Upstate Medical University – UHCC, Crouse Hospital,
and all five locations of St. Joseph’s Imaging Associates.
