Tricia Walker Performs at CNY 2004 Race for the Cure
Tricia Walker will perform live at Cole Muffler Court to celebrate and honor all breast cancer survivors.

Born and raised in Mississippi, Tricia Walker has become one of the clearest voices of her own time and place. Her music is steeped in the passion, pain and grace of the American South, influenced as much by the social turbulence of the 1960’s as by the R&B, gospel and swing she grew up listening to. She formed her first band at 13, supplementing formal piano training with the time-honored tradition of copying guitar licks from records and radio.

What A Wonderful Day! is a four-minute musical dose of gratitude and celebration that nourishes the spirit. Tricia wrote and first performed the song at a survivors luncheon several years ago. The survivors and their families were touched by the message of hope and joy that the song evokes. A recording of the song was produced in Nashville, with the chorus sung by local cancer survivors. Since that time, Tricia has performed the song at numerous functions across the United States.
