Komen CNY Grant Application The Central New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 2009. Grants will be funded up to $25,000*. Applications for breast cancer and breast health programs from nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Livingston, Lewis, Madison, Monroe, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, St. Lawrence, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties are eligible for funding. The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing science to find the cure. The Organization runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. Our Affiliate is proud to have sent $119,000.00 to the Organization for research in 2008. In addition to funding research, the Affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in the 17 county CNY service area. In 2008, we funded over $446,000 to local community programs. Our grant cycle runs from April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Eligible applications must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2008. Announcements of funding will be made in March 2009.
