Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is a volunteer driven organization dedicated to eliminating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. 

Volunteers support the structure of our organization. They make programs happen. We could not exist without them.

Komen Central New York credits its success to the many outstanding volunteers who share their energy, ideas, talents and enthusiasm. There are hundreds of volunteer opportunities each year, from handing out water at the Susan G. Komen Central New York Race for the Cure® to becoming a spokesperson on the importance of early detection and education. Whether you are looking for a year-round commitment or a one-time event, the Komen Central New York Affiliate has a place for you. 

We will work with your availability.  Every minute you spend helping gives another minute of hope to those affected by breast cancer.

Program areas include:

• Development
• Special Events - NYS Fair, Race for the Cure®
• Community Programs Advocacy Volunteer Application/Interests/Release
• Administrative/Office Support
• Education - includes staffing booths at health fairs,
  speakers bureau, information sessions
• Phone support - Fundraising follow-up
